Tasting note: Whiffs of exotic fruit and wood toast can be found on the bright and cool nose. The exuberantly fresh and vibrant middleweight flavors possess both good vibrancy and a seductive texture, all wrapped in a youthfully austere, persistent and balanced finale. This could use better depth but that's why we cellar wines. Outstanding. --Allen Meadows Burghound
The 2021 Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru Les Macherelles is quite tightly wound out of the gates, offering up aromas of white flowers, pear, orange oil, toasted nuts and iodine, followed by a medium to full-bodied, layered and concentrated palate. It's a success that will reward some bottle age.-William Kelley, The Wine Advocate
Half a crop only. Pale lemon and lime, rather elegant on the nose. Softer on the palate, a little bit oaky too, but with a fine white fruit nonetheless. This is an attractive Chassagne-Montrachet that does not quite deliver the exceptional vibrations of Les Chaumées. Drink from 2025-2030. Tasted: November 2023.--Jasper Morris, Inside Burgundy
