Bursting with aromas of cherries, rose petals, ripe berries and orange rind, the 2018 Griotte-Chambertin Grand Cru (négoce) is medium to full-bodied, lively and supple, its ample core of succulent fruit concealing melting tannins. Elegant and exuberant, this will drink well young. Lignier explains that the Mercier family's parcel of Griotte-Chambertin is leased to both Ponsot and Leclerc in metayage, some of which the Merciers take in grapes and sell to Laurent Lignier.--William Kelley, The Wine Advocate
