A rich and fleshy version, exhibiting black cherry, blackberry, violet, iron and spice flavors. Firmly structured, yet charmingly concentrated and pure, with terrific balance. Extends nicely on the long finish. Best from 2021 through 2040. 95 cases imported. - Bruce Sanderson, Wine Spectator
Tasting note: A gorgeously spiced and perfumed nose is intensely floral in character while offering up notes of both red and dark currant, sandalwood, exotic Asian-style tea and discreet dried rose petal nuances. The muscular yet refined big-bodied flavors exude ample minerality onto the powerful, focused and once again compact, focused and explosively long finish. This too is indisputably built-to-age and I wouldn't be surprised if it required fully 20 years before it is fully ready. In sum this Richebourg is one of the finest wines of the 2014 vintage. Allen Meadows - Burghound
The 2014 Richebourg Grand Cru has a quite compelling bouquet, as one is getting accustomed to chez Grivot. There are pure dark cherries, red plum and boysenberry fruit here, infused with fine mineralité and that sense of aristocracy one seeks in a Richebourg. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannin, wonderful acidity and beautifully integrated oak. There is great poise here, power hand in hand with elegance, a consummate Richebourg that will give a lot of pleasure over many years. Neal Martin – The Wine Advocate
Good dark red. More reticent, very deep aromas of black raspberry, smoke, espresso, dark chocolate and sexy soil tones. Sweet, even plush on entry, offering rich flavors of blackcurrant, coffee and Asian spices, then more closed in the middle and turning distinctly minerally and firm toward the back. The seriously tannic, savory finish features almost iodiney minerality and great mounting, resounding length. Already conveys superb silky extract richness but this potentially great Richebourg will need at least a decade of cellaring to approach maturity. Stephen Tanzer – Vinous Media
