Ripe plum and blackberry fruit, with well-integrated spice and a silky, plump texture which is nicely balanced by plenty of freshness; a typical village-level Vosne, but one that goes beyond in elegance and finesse. This is a blend of grapes grown both above and below grand crus (Aux Champs Perdrix in the case of the former, Aux Réas and others the latter). The total surface area is 2.5ha. The fruit is destemmed and carefully fermented before ageing in 30% new casks.—Charles Curtis MW, Decanter
An earthy aroma dissipates with air, revealing pure black cherry, black currant and violet flavors. Silky yet dense and solidly structured, this balanced red lingers with fruit, spice and light vegetal accents. Drink now through 2032. —B.S.
Note: from 8 different vineyards the most important of which is Aux Ormes
Tasting note: Here the nose is firmly reduced today though there is good freshness and verve to the intense, sleek and beautifully defined medium weight flavors that possess very fine concentration that helps to buffer the moderately firm but fine tannic spine supporting the balanced and impressively persistent finish. This too is a very good wine in the context of its level.—Allen Meadows, Burghound
The typical super dense purple colour of the vintage. A little bit of cooked cherry. Tough tannins behind, very good acidity, this is a bit of a firm beast, fortunately with good acidity as well. Very long concentrated dark fruit at the finish. Chalky tannins come from the white soil of Aux Raviolles, I am told. Tasted: November 2021—Jasper Morris, Inside Burgundy
