Medium deep crimson, displaying a slightly reductive nose, which needs a little time to clear. The Grivot Beaux Monts then shows considerable weight and a light lick of oak. This is very intense, has good acidity, and some tannins. Not falling in love with it now but there is significant potential for development. Tasted: September 2021--Jasper Morris, Inside Burgundy
Tasting note: This is firmly reduced though the underlying fruit does not seem quite as ripe. The medium weight flavors are less concentrated but more mineral-driven and markedly more refined with a lovely inner mouth perfumed and delineation that also suffuses the lingering finish. This is certainly very good but it doesn't quite have the same depth of material compared to the best of these Vosne 1ers. Outstanding – Allen Meadows – Burghound
The 2017 Vosne-Romanée Les Beaux Monts 1er Cru has an extraordinarily transparent bouquet - you can really feel the terroir in this wine. There is an almost pastille-like purity here. The palate is sappy on the entry with very good depth and plenty of matière, offering dark berries, cola and a touch of white pepper on the finish. Maybe the Aux Brûlées has a little more sophistication? Still, this is very fine. Neal Martin – Vinous media
