An impressive concentration of bright red cherry fruit, with notes of violet and liquorice. The structure is firm, but also supple and dense. This is the best red of the cellar. The red wines of Caroline Lestimé at Jean-Noël Gagnard always have charm; this has more than that. Lovely fresh purple, fine and classy with more depth than Caroline’s Clos St-Jean. Taken from a youngish barrel so showing the wood. The noblest tannins of all the reds with good grip at the back, and fine length. The yield was just 20 hl/ha. Tasted: November 2021. 4 Stars. Jasper Morris, Inside Burgundy
