Note: from the lieux-dits Nampoillon and Les Closeaux
Tasting note: Once again, the nose is firmly reduced. By contrast, there is excellent cut and intensity to the more mineral-driven flavors that possess solid mid-palate density while displaying fine depth and persistence on the youthfully austere finale. This is a very good Auxey villages.—Allen Meadows, Burghound
Lemon with a lime touch. More grapefruit notes compared to the peachier Monthelie. Yet it still fills the mouth out with the balanced 2020 generosity – in a way that an Auxey of 20 years ago could not have done. Citrus notes return at the end. Tasted: 10/1/2021—Jasper Morris, Inside Burgundy
