The 2012 Cote de Nuits La Vignottes comes from 40-year old vines that surround the maison in Premeaux-Prissey. It has a very attractive, refined bouquet with black fruits rather than red, whilst the palate is medium-bodied with fine, supple tannins, nicely judged acidity and a succulent pastille-like finish. I would afford this two or three years in bottle, although it will be difficult to resist temptation. - Neal Martin, Wine Advocate
(old vines; 30% of the crop was lost to hail): Good deep red with ruby tones. Black raspberry, chocolate, mocha, leather and game on the expressive nose. Rich and broad in the mouth, combining a creamy texture with good nervosite. More refined and harmonious than the Montagne, with a lighter touch. Spreads out broadly on the back end, retaining good energy. The influence of the old vines is obvious here.-Stephen Tanzer, Vinous Media
"There is a hint of green tea to the fresh and ripe cherry and raspberry aromas. I like the excellent richness and volume to the enveloping and concentrated flavors that terminate in a dusty and palate coating finish that offers solid if not exceptional depth and length. A delicious effort" - Allen Meadows, Burghound
