Wine Spectator Insider Hot Wine. A rich, supple white, with great balance and expression, delivering peach, lemon, mineral and spice flavors allied to a bone-dry, chalky structure that reflects greater austerity on the finish for now. Shows superb harmony and length. Best from 2025 through 2036. From France.—B.S., Wine Spectator
Cool, restrained and mineral with a subtle aroma of violets, this is a youthful and highly structured Corton-Charlemagne that has the noble austerity of this Grand Cru at the very long crushed-stone finish. From a high-altitude parcel on the southeast-facing side of the hill of Corton. Drink or hold.—James Suckling
Pale colour with engaging minerality. Lifted but lovely, finesse and tension. Some liquorice behind, very good length, and with time will fill out the middle of the palate. Not much, alas, is made of this excellent wine from Les Languettes. Tasted: November 2021.—Jasper Morris, Inside Burgundy
Aromas of pear, citrus zest, struck match, fresh bread and pastry cream introduce Drouhin's 2020 Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru (Domaine), a full-bodied, deep and complete wine that's satiny and layered, with lively acids and a chalky finish.—William Kelley, The Wine Advocate
Tasting note: A lightly wooded nose features super-fresh aromas of Granny Smith apples, along with citrus confit, fennel and a hint of spicy exotic tea. There is again excellent volume and richness to the caressing but powerful and muscular larger-scaled flavors that exude a refreshing salinity on the superbly long finish. This could use better depth but that should come if allowed at least a few years of cellaring.—Allen Meadows, Burghound
