There is enough wood influence to mention setting off the liqueur-like aromas of black cherry liqueur, plum, smoke, Asian-style tea and subtle floral wisps. Like the Clos de Vougeot the big-bodied and overtly muscular flavors possess superb richness while displaying evident power on the mouth coating, extract-rich and superbly persistent finish where the wood exhibited by the nose reappears. In short, this is breathtakingly good. Allen Meadows - Burghound
The 2016 Grands-Echézeaux Grand Cru has a similar nose to Tremblay’s Echézeaux tasted alongside. Raspberry and crushed strawberry at first, autumn leaves and attractive wilted rose petal aromas following suit. Fine delineation and nicely integrated oak. The palate is medium-bodied with fleshy ripe red berry fruit, fine tannin, plenty of spice and a subtle garrigues-like/Provençal note towards the harmonious finish. Excellent. Tasted blind at the 2016 Burgfest tasting. Neal Matin - Vinous Msdia
