Lots of raspberry and fresh, floral aromas follow through to a full-bodied, tight and composed palate of blue fruit, fine tannins and a flavorful finish. Linear and racy. Better after 2022. - James Suckling

The 2018 Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru has turned out beautifully this year, wafting from the glass with scents of dark berry fruit, orange rind and grilled squab, complemented by a deft overlay of new oak. Medium to full-bodied, textural and expansive, it's supple and enveloping, its generous core of fruit underpinned by velvety tannins and ripe acids. - William Kelley, Wine Advocate

The 2018 Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru felt very reduced on the nose when I tasted a barrel sample in London, although it seemed to open with vigorous aeration, offering blackberry and cranberry scents mixed with brown spices and cedar. The palate is much more indicative of the wine, armed with lovely, pliant tannins, ample tart red cherry fruit and veins of blue fruit toward the silky finish.
