Creamy and polished with pretty oak-spice and chocolate notes, layered with plums and blueberries. Light toffee, too. Medium body with velvety tannins. Fresh finish. -James Suckling.
Lovely perfume aromatics on the nose. Juicy and softly lively on the palate, you feel like this wants to be more playful but the creamy, chalky tannins just cover the fruit purity and brightness right now. It does have a good base of acidity though and I like the clear terroir markers of graphite, crushed stone and pencil lead with a cooling finish. I also like the texture - it's delicate and feels well worked and refined with good potential. - Georgina Hindle, Decanter.
Lots of tobacco leaf, spice, sandalwood, and both red and black fruits emerge from the 2021 Château La Cabanne, a medium-bodied, balanced, charming Pomerol. I like its tannins, as well as its balance, and it has outstanding potential. - Jeb Dunnuck.
Notions of cherries, licorice, sweet berries and dried herbs introduce the 2021 La Cabanne, a medium to full-bodied, seamless and succulent wine built around bright acids and powdery tannins. - William Kelley, Wine Advocate.
Deep garnet-purple colored, the 2021 La Cabanne needs some coaxing to release scents of baked red and black cherries, wild strawberries, and tapenade with wafts of bay leaves and crushed rocks. Medium-bodied, the palate has ripe, rounded tannins and lovely freshness supporting the black and red fruits, finishing earthy. - Lisa Perrotti-Brown, The Wine Independent.
The 2021 La Cabanne has an attractive bouquet of blackberry, raspberry and rose petal scents, touches of black truffle coming through with time. The palate is medium-bodied and sapid, with light tannins, dark berry fruit, fine acidity, firm grip and moderate length. This should give a decade of drinking pleasure. - Neal Martin, Vinous Media.
