The 2022 La Clémence is a juicy, succulent Pomerol. Ripe dark cherry, plum, mocha, spice, leather, tobacco and cedar are amplified. I imagine the 2022 will drink well with minimal cellaring, as it is already quite expressive. This has appellation signature, but is dominated by cloves and black pepper obscuring the ripe fruit flavours. There is drama here, and enjoyable bitter black chocolate, but the real pleasure is obscured for now by oak. - Jane Anson, Inside Bordeaux

Juicy and supple, though quite herbal, dry, and watery. Feels like they struggled a bit, not much fruit density and the tannins fill the mouth and take over. not overripe, there's a touch of juiciness and mouthwatering acidity here which is really nice, but the tannins take over and this feels a bit serious. Potential though. Compact, dense, massy, but there is life here. Will be good to taste in bottle. Harvest 22 September. Yield of 25hl/ha. - Georgina Hindle, Decanter
