Heavier extraction than the Lion, with powerful damson, red cherry and fennel, along with edges of tobacco and raspbery leaf,. This is powerful, edges of bitter chocolate, walks the line of the vintage. The 2022 La Fleur de Boüard is a dark, potent wine. The style here clearly seeks greater volume and density. There is plenty of both, but that does not make this a better wine than the Lion. It will be interesting to see if the new oak imprint settles down a bit. - Antonio Galloni, Vinous Media
