Coming from more sandy soils, the 2023 Château La Fleur Morange is beautifully done and offers the vintage's freshness in its cassis and juicy black cherry fruits as well as notes of iron, leafy tobacco, and chocolate. Based on 70% Merlot and 30% Cabernet Franc, it's medium to full-bodied, has a fresh, focused mouthfeel, terrific mid-palate depth, and a great finish. It's another beautiful wine from this estate. - Jeb Dunnuck
This shows depth and structure, with compact, very fine tannins and bright dark-fruit character. Medium-bodied and polished, with good tension and length. Pleasant, juicy undertone. - James Suckling
A blend of 70% Merlot and 30% Cabernet Franc, La Fleur Morange 2023 is deep garnet-purple in color. It features notes of baked redcurrants and kirsch, leading to hints of cedar chest, wet slate, and wild sage. The medium to full-bodied palate is soft, with alluring freshness and a red berry-laced finish. - Lisa Perrotti-Brown, Wine Independent
Faded rose, potpourri, cracked bell pepper and light red and blackberry aromas presage a brisk attack and nuanced palate, with soft, subtle expressions of ripe fruit, as well as tannic backbone. A wine that should expand after the barrel ageing, with nicely integrated 100% new oak. However, the rather closed expressions leaves me with the impression of being almost too polite for its own good. Let's see from bottle, as the wine shows potential. -Panos Kakaviatos, Decanter
Spiced plum on the opening, with juicy red fruits, less concentrated than in most vintages of this excellent estate, well handled to concentrate on fine tannins and a restrained but evident grilled sandalwood oak. Black pepper and rosemary on the close of play. 100% new oak for ageing. - Jane Anson
