A medium-bodied red with blackberry, licorice and tar character. Medium, round and focused. Plenty going on here. Typical for the region. - James Suckling.
Lovely perfumed berry nose. Juicy and bright on the palate, this has a sense of joy to it and although the tannins come in and dominate the palate in terms of chewy texture the fruit has persistence and determination giving slightly sour cherry, strawberry and tangy raspberry the whole way through. I love the upfront nature here, the terroir on show in the glass, and the chalky tannins provide the support which will soften over time. Skilled winemaking on show. - Georgina Hindle, Decanter.
This has plenty of punch, with sculpted savoury fruits, enjoyable and balanced, white pear, great texture plenty of mouthwatering acidity that reflects the character of the vintage but with grip and nuance. - Jane Anson, Inside Bordeaux.
A blend of 65% Cabernet Sauvignon and 35% Merlot aging in 50% new barrels, the 2021 Château La Louvière has a lifted yet attractive nose of ripe currant and cherry fruits supported by plenty of earthy tobacco and incense. Medium-bodied, round, and nicely textured, it should certainly be a solid, balanced, satisfying Pessac that will keep for 10-12 years or more. - Jeb Dunnuck.
he 2021 La Louvière is quite intense on the precise nose of blackberry, wild strawberry, cedar and tobacco scents. The palate is medium-bodied with fine-grained tannins, fresh and vibrant, leading to an elegant finish. A success in a difficult vintage. - Neal Martin, Vinous Media.
