A hugely consistent, good value property from the Thienpont family, on soils where limestone is dominant and much closer to the surface than with sibling Puygueraud. Plenty of damson and black cherry fruits, with orange peel, pomegranate, salted cracker and juice. Has depth and clarity, 37hl/h yield, 25% new oak, plus 400l oak casks for ageing. A buy. - Jane Anson, Inside Bordeaux
Plenty of fruit with well-integrated tannins. Medium body, bright acidity and a fresh and bright finish. Lots of crunchy fruit. Juicy. - James Suckling
The inky hued 2022 Château La Prade shows the richer, concentrated style of the vintage and has beautiful cassis and darker berry fruits, some spicy background oak, medium to full body, and a seamless, sexy, layered style that's already hard to resist. It's another terrific wine that's going to shine right out of the gate.-Jeb Dunnuck
Deep garnet-purple colored, the 2022 La Prade jumps from the glass with bold notions of juicy black plums and boysenberry preserves followed by wafts of cardamom, Sichuan pepper, and lavender. The medium to full-bodied palate has a plush texture and plenty of freshness supporting the generous fruit, finishing with a spicy kick. La Prade vineyard is in the Francs Côtes de Bordeaux, mainly on a limestone plateau with parts extending the hillsides. The blend is 85% Merlot and 15% Cabernet Franc. - Lisa Perrotti-Brown, Wine Independent
The 2022 La Prade is packed with inky dark fruit, chocolate, licorice, menthol and cloves. In 2022, La Prade shows the natural intensity and solar richness of the year in spades. A kiss of sweet French oak lingers on a sumptuous finish framed by potent tannins. The blend is 95% Merlot and 5% Cabernet Franc. -Antonio Galloni, Vinous Media
