This streams through with glistening dried yellow apple, star fruit, white peach and mango flavors, backed by heather, honeysuckle and mirabelle plum notes. Rich for sure, but this wins on brightness, range and purity. Best from 2020 through 2035. 1,665 cases made. - James Molesworth, Wine Spectator

The nose is a little bit bready with dried-apple character, and there’s only a hint of the exotic-fruit botryis character. The wine is full and rich on the palate, but there’s a slight sharpness to the finish that pulls the brakes on. - James Suckling

The Château La Tour Blanche 2014 is a blend of 82% Sémillon, 12% Sauvignon Blanc and 5% Muscadelle that has 130 grams per liter residual sugar, a level that might be lower than what I was expecting, though still around average for the vintage. The Sémillon is matured in wooden barrel, the other two varieties in stainless steel. It was showing a little muddled on the nose due to a dab of SO2, though that is no crime, no fault at this early stage. Putting that aside, the palate shows great potential with intense honeyed fruit, plenty of botrytis, veins of orange zest and quince that seems to “flow” through the finish. It will need some bottle age, but we all know how this Sauternes repays patience. I have my faith in this La Tour Blanche. -Neal Martin, Wine Advocate

I always like the style of this wine which has one of the largest percentage of Semillon of all the sweet wines. Yellow in color with caramel and tropical fruits on the nose. What a finely balanced, elegant wine! There is plenty of botrytis, however the sweetness and richness dominate at the moment with a lovely, rich, long finish. GVWM Staff
