Firm slightly drying tannins, grilled smoked leather, fleshy blackberry and raspberry fruit. The tannins close things in on the close of play, narrowing through the palate, emphasising bitter orange and saffron, with slate and liquorice. Struggles to gain balance, but it gets there, and is a well constructed wine with Left Bank signature. 33% new oak barrels for ageing. - Jane Anson, Inside Bordeaux
A refined and beautiful red with blackcurrants, chocolate and cedar aromas and flavors. Medium body. Racy finish. Shows potential. - James Suckling
Concentrated fruits on the nose and palate, lovely intensity of pure fruit - this has clarity and a juicy core. Feels a touch tannic right now, covering up some of the fruit, but the initial expression was really delightful and this should be nice once the tannins melt a little. This has style and a juicy fun friendliness. A touch dry on the end, but not disconcerting. Harvest 19 September- 7 October. Ageing for 12 months in French oak, 33% new, 33% one year old, 33% two years old. - Georgina Hindle, Decanter
