This is creamy, with crushed plum, red currant and cherry fruit seamlessly layered and gliding along, while notes of bergamot, rooibos tea, cedar and allspice paint a lovely backdrop. Mature, but still firm through the finish, with a dried tobacco leaf note lingering. This has terrific range and definition, displaying a juicy feel along the edges and opening wonderfully in the glass. A wine that lets its terroir shine brightly, more so than the slightly heady '61.-James Molesworth, Wine Spectator
The 1964 Larcis Ducasse is truly remarkable. Dense, deep and powerful, the 1964 Larcis possesses exceptional depth and sheer concentration for a wine of its age. Intense black cherry, smoke, leather and licorice all flesh out in the glass. The aromatics are perhaps a bit more advanced than the palate, but I can't hold that against a wine that has aged so spectacularly well-Antonio Galloni, Vinous Media
