This medium-sized n'gociant is making an effort at upgrading its wines, and this is a solid example. Thyme and bay leaf notes mark the black cherry fruit, picking up hints of black tea that turn dusty and dry on the finish. Wine Enthusiast
Singed apple wood and licorice root notes lead the way in this version, with dark plum and steeped currant fruit at the core. A coating of cocoa powder shows on the finish. Drink now through 2022. 1,000 cases made. -James Molesworth, Wine Spectator
2011 Lavau Chateauneuf-du-Pape brings aromas and flavors of cherry, raspberry, pine, spice, dried earth and hints of cocoa. It's bright and racy with fine-grained tannins leaving behind some fresh herbs and licorice notes on the finish. (Best 2014-2018) - September 2013, International Wine Report
