This is a vivid wine with terrific clarity and vibrance aromas and flavors. Full body, ultra fine tannins and a long, long finish. Class. Really superb for the vintage. Needs two or three years of bottle age to soften. James Suckling

The 2013 L'Eglise Clinet has a very precise, tightly wound bouquet with limestone-tinged, brambly red berry fruit, the Merlot still very expressive and imparting comely floral scents. There is something almost Burgundy-like about the nose. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannin surrounding a core of citrus-fresh, lively red fruit, silky smooth in texture, approachable in style, with an almost symmetrical finish. This was a great L'Eglise-Clinet in barrel in the context of the vintage and it remains a very persuasive wine in bottle. Bravo Denis Durantou - a winemaker that can overcome even the most deplorable of growing seasons! - Neal Martin, Wine Advocate

Floral, licorice and cherry aromatics get along well here. Medium/full bodied, with a fresh, open character. While as you would expect with the 2013 vintage, the wine lacks the weight and density of the top vintages. Yet, the wine is still fun to taste with its silky, soft red fruits, sweetness of flavor and soft textures. Plus you do not have to wait for it to develop, as this is already quite tasty.-Jeff Leve, Wine Cellar Insider

This was an excellent Pomerol seven years ago, and it still is. The nose is closed, but there are lurking aromas of black cherries and oak. It's juicy and fluid, fleshy and upfront, delivering a hedonistic style for 2013, with ample energy and flair. The finish is textured and fairly long.-Stephen Brook, Deacanter

Deep dark ruby garnet, black core, violet reflections, attractive black berry fruit, a hint of nougat, ripe cherries, very attractive bouquet, hints of cloves. Complex, elegant, dances on the tongue, rich in finesse and mineral, salty, a perfect terroir wine, has secure future potential.-Falstaff

90% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Franc. 70% new oak. Chocolate and black fruit, lovely richness and concentration. Very high tannins here, but they have a buffed edge that suggests they will soften well. Fine, lengthy and concentrated. Pretty hearty, yet quite effortless to taste. Impressive!  - Richard Hemming MW, JancisRobinson .com
