Tasted 5 Times With Consistent Notes. Tasted three times over the last year, the monumental 1947 is a great example of what thick, viscous, chewy, super-concentrated wines were produced in Pomerol in that vintage. The color is opaque garnet. The nose explodes from the glass, offering sweet, mocha, chocolate, black-cherry, anise, and smoky scents. Fabulously-concentrated, with a nectar-like unctuosity, this fabulous wine is still young and amazingly rich and well-balanced for its massive size. Wines such as this can bring tears to your eyes! - Robert Parker
