Tasted blind at Southwold ’06 Bordeaux tasting. This has a languid, sensuous nose with bright red-berried fruit, strawberry, cranberry and a touch of granite. Superb definition and sense of clarity. The palate is medium-bodied, a hint of iodine on the entry but lovely cohesion and harmony on the mid-palate, sensuous towards the finish. Very stylish. This is one of the finest wines from L’Evangile in recent years. Bravo! Tasted January 2010. Neal Martin - The Wine Advocate
Powerful deep, dark and almost brooding, this is still quite young and tannic. There is a lot of ripe, fresh fruit, with loads of truffles, but you need to get past the muscular tannins first. Give it another decade and this should be a beauty.-Jeff Leve, Wine Cellar Insider
