Note: from a .73 ha parcel of 40+ year old vines
Tasting note: Moderate reduction with some wood influence blurs the underlying fruit today. Otherwise, the ripe, suave, round and powerful broad-shouldered flavors exude a fine minerality on the muscular, mouth coating and wonderfully persistent finish that is both dusty and moderately austere. While this should be reasonably approachable after 7 to 8 years, it should also be capable of repaying 12+ years of cellaring. Sweet Spot. Outstanding.—Allen Meadows, Burghound
Badly hit by the frost, alas. Pale to mid purple. A quality bouquet in terms of class but restrained. Some elegance in the red fruit, lighter body than in most years, slightly higher acidity than some, but still pretty and perfumed. Drink from 2027-2033. Tasted: November 2022.—Jasper Morris, Inside Burgundy
