Bottled in January. Pale lemon and lime. What a fine classy bouquet, with Vaulorent opulence yet classical balance. Excellent tension, but still such a baby. This will be worth a ten year wait. Still tightly wound despite its cashmere overcoat. Tasted: June 2022--Jasper Morris, Inside Burgundy
Tasting note: This also displays a plenitude of classic Chablis character with its combination of various shellfish, mineral reduction and algae with overtly floral white fleshed fruit aromas. Here too there is excellent concentration to the unusually powerful larger-scaled flavors that also possess fine balance on the wonderfully persistent, clean and quite dry but not really austere finale. At least some patience strongly advised. Outstanding. --Allen Meadows, Burghound
The 2020 Chablis Vaulorent 1er Cru has an arresting gun-flint scented bouquet that has real focus and delineation. Wonderful. The palate is well-balanced with a sharp line of acidity. Good weight and a bit ‘mean’ perhaps, yet there is ample freshness and lip-smacking sapidity on the finish. It does not have the wide appeal of other Chablis...and it doesn't care. Superb. Tasted blind at the BIVB tasting in Chablis.–Neal Martin, Vinous Media
