Half has been made in a cement egg, half in barrel. Bottled in January. More lemon than lime. There is a healthy balanced exuberance about the bouquet which pleases, showing right bank generosity. But you cannot keep the salinity down either. Delicious juicy finish to this, very classy, with a mix of white fruit with some ripe citrus. Fine crystalline finish. Good wine. Tasted: June 2022--Jasper Morris, Inside Burgundy
Note: from Pied d'Aloup, and also 100% aged in older wood
Tasting note: There is a whiff of phenolic character to the overtly floral-suffused nose of lemongrass, green apple and petrol, all of which is trimmed in equally subtle wood treatment. The cool, refined and beautifully textured medium-bodied flavors exhibit ample minerality on the youthfully austere and even longer built-to-age finale. I really like the balance and while this too would benefit from having more depth, that is all but assured. Outstanding --Allen Meadows, Burghound
