Full-bodied and concentrated but also endowed with an airy finesse, the firm, savory palate delivers ripe Morello cherry, crushed pomegranate, licorice and mocha. The Paolo Scavino 2018 Barolo Monvigliero offers dried rose and smoky notes with crushed stone and peppery spice. Lovely, inviting nebbiolo nose with fresh and dried cherries, colored with pungent, sous-bois notes of dried roses and truffley mushrooms. Full-bodied, yet very tight and fresh with a solid tannin framework. Super-fresh and flavorful, but will this will need some time to soften a little. Solid wine for the vintage. The 2018 Barolo Monvigliero is such a classy wine. Bright floral and spice notes lead into a core of sweet red cherry fruit in a nervy, beautifully focused Barolo that delivers the goods. The 2018 Paolo Scavino Barolo Monvigliero has a very appealing, perfumed nose with fragrant, floral notes focusing on blue flowers with notes of violet, iris and spice.
