Parusso's 2006 Barolo Le Coste-Mosconi is simply superb. The late harvest in 2006 yielded a wine blessed with gorgeous, articulate aromatics, beautifully ripe fruit and finessed tannins, all of which add tons of class to what is essentially a full-throttle, fruit-driven Barolo. A vein of minerality runs through the wine from start to finish, adding a degree of freshness that is unusual for such a big wine. The textural richness and balance here are drop-dead gorgeous. Antonio Galloni, Vinous Media
Wild cherry, currant and floral flavors are accented by woodsy underbrush elements in this firm, intense red. An anise theme lurks underneath, playing out on the sweet and savory finish. Best from 2014 through 227. Bruce Sanderson, Wine Spectator
Le Coste Mosconi delivers a very attractive ensemble of ripe fruit aromas with oak-driven shadings of vanilla, cinnamon and clove. No single aroma is over the top and the wine is indeed nicely integrated and balanced. The tannins are drying and tight, creating a firm impression on the close. - Wine Enthusiast
Monforte d'Alba. Medium-concentrated with broad brick rim. Very savoury, salty almost, Oxo cube. Much finer on the palate. Port-like richness, and persistent tannins, which it needs. Very long. - Walter Speller, JancisRobinson.com
