Critic Scores, Reviews & Descriptions

(20% whole clusters and 8% new French oak) Limpid ruby-red. Highly aromatic red fruit, potpourri and Asian spice scents, along with a smoky mineral overtone. Juicy, lithe and precise on the palate, offering sweet black raspberry, rose pastille and spicecake flavors that deepen and spread out slowly with aeration. Delivers a suave blend of power and elegance and finishes with resonating spiciness, harmonious tannins and outstanding clarity and floral-driven persistence. - Josh Raynolds, Vinous Media

This particular block selection is focused upon old-vine Pommard grapes, and the result is a layered and deeply focused wine that continually evolves once poured. It's a delicate explosion of textures and flavors, berry and cherry, wet stone, cola and caramel. Though it will surely age beautifully over a decade or longer, if you give it ample aeration and attention, it drinks quite nicely already. - Wine Enthusiast

The Bishop Block cuvée from the Durant Vineyard also hails from the Dundee Hills, but offers up a more brooding nose of wild red fruit, mossy undergrowth and smoke than Patricia Green's other Dundee Hills bottlings. On the palate, the wine is taut, concentrated and full-bodied, with a notable chassis of tannin which demands some time in the cellar. - Decanter
