The 2022 Pinot Noir Freedom Hill Vineyard Pommard pours a jeweled ruby color and is aromatic of preserved red cherries, pristine spice, floral perfume, and a lot of clarity. It saturates the palate with ripe, vibrant energy and a long, long finish. It’s full of life but fully ripe and exceptionally balanced, with an angular feel. From vines planted in 2001, the 2022 Pinot Noir Freedom Hill Vineyard Pommard Clone was fermented with destemmed grapes and matured in 28% new French oak. It has intoxicating, layered scents of pomegranate, blueberry, aniseed, tobacco and singular touches of juniper and sage. The medium-bodied palate is bursting with floral flavors. It has a finely chalky texture, mouthwatering acidity and a very long finish loaded with spice. It’s a great candidate for cellaring. 173 cases were made.--Erin Brooks, The Wine Advocate
