Vinepair Best Sparkling Rosés Under $100 2022
A well-balanced version backed by vibrant acidity, with delicate notes of pureed strawberry, pastry cream, blood orange peel and smoke-tinged mineral carried on a fine mousse. Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Pinot Meunier. Drink now. —A.N., Wine Spectator
A fruity rosé Champagne, yet it remains very vinous, with strawberry, strawberry tart and light pie crust. Full body with density, yet also freshness and energy. Plenty of flavor. Drink or hold. - James Suckling
(50% pinot noir and 25% each of chardonnay and pinot meunier; L3201006191): Pale, bright pink. A wild, pungent bouquet evokes redcurrant, cherry and licorice, with a suave floral quality in the background. Juicy, penetrating red fruit flavors are braced by a note of blood orange and show impressive intensity. Finishes brisk and incisive, with excellent length. - Josh Raynolds, Vinous Media
The latest release of Perrier-Jouët's NV Brut Blason Rosé is generous and charming, delivering notes of ripe peach, strawberries and pears complemented by hints of fresh bread. Medium to full-bodied, fleshy and enveloping, its sweet core of fruit is girdled by ripe acids. This is an immediate, demonstrative rosé that will appeal to a broad audience and drink well young. - William Kelley, Wine Advocate
The Jouët family are not only winemakers, but botanists bringing an affinity with nature full circle. In French, Blason means coat of arms, and this is one of Jouët's defining wines brought to market in the 1950s. And maybe the name is a response to their overall goal: making wine with food in mind. That goal continues to be met to this day. The nose is yeasty brioche with bright minerals keeping the senses heightened. The palate is soft on fruit, with a concentration of natural acidity and playful bubbles giving structure to the palate. - Vinepair
