The NV Brut Réserve Oubliée (base 2015 ) marries freshness, tension and the complexity that emerges from the perpetual reserve in this blend. Wonderfully complex and layered, with striking aromatic presence, the Réserve Oubliée has so much going on. Marzipan, dried flowers, mint, lemon confit and spice build in the resonant, creamy finish. Dosage is 4.5-5.5 grams per liter. Disgorged: December, 2020. - Antonio Galloni, Vinous Media

What precisely has been forgotten here? According to Rodolphe this cuvée is an on-trade speciality with great gastronomic potential, a blend form the three vessels which make up his Perpetual Reserve, the blend aged in tank for a year and then, for good measure, aged for an extra year on its fine lees on natural cork. Almost as if it has been forgotten in the cellar! Best not forgotten, this one, such is its complexity, the savoury notes of tobacco, iodine and even saffron perfectly poised; this is essentially a mature Chardonnay, the spices complemented by notes of dried apricot, honey and softly buttered toast. - Simon Field, Decanter

Disgorged in December 2020 and based on the 2015 vintage (complemented by a perpetual reserve that dates back to 1988), the latest release of Péters's NV Brut Blanc de Blancs Grand Cru Réserve Oubliée offers up inviting aromas of crisp stone fruit, freshly baked bread, almond paste and dried white flowers. Medium to full-bodied, pillowy and enveloping, it's fleshy but incisive, with a beautifully refined pinpoint mousse and a long, creamy finish. It's great now, but it will be even better with a year or two on cork. - William Kelley, Wine Advocate

Leesy pastry dough and marzipan notes are an aromatic entry for this creamy, layered Champagne, leading to flavors of baked plum, kumquat and anise. A subtle streak of smoky mineral and vivid acidity define the mouthwatering finish. Drink now through 2025. - Alison Napjus, Wine Spectator

Based on 2009 base but going back to 1988. Disgorged July 2016. Deep but pure citrus aroma, lemon oil. Honeyed, dried grasses. So intense and deep and powerful but still with refinement. It is yeasty but also layered and deep, the mousse mild but persistent and the empty glass has a nice hint of wild-flower honey. Endlessly long. - JH, Jancis Robinson
