The 2022 Poesia, 70% Merlot and 30% Cabernet Franc, is deep garnet-purple in color. It comes galloping out with energetic scents of black raspberries, fresh mulberries, and juicy black cherries, giving way to nuances of rose oil, truffle oil, and crushed rocks. The concentrated, full-bodied palate delivers thrilling tension, with layer upon layer of red and black fruits supported by velvety tannins, finishing very long and electric. Gorgeous! pH 3.39. - Lisa Perrotti-Brown, Wine Independent
Lots of graphite and purple fruit with salty and lavender undertones. Medium- to full-bodied, fine and beautiful. Excellent length. - James Suckling
The 2022 Château Poesia is a bigger, riper, powerful wine based on 70% Merlot and 30% Cabernet Franc. Ripe black cherries, smoked tobacco, graphite, licorice, and ample chalky minerality all define the aromatics, and it's medium to full-bodied, with a great mid-palate, ripe yet building tannins, and a terrific finish. With a pH of 3.39, it's going to need time. - Jeb Dunnuck
The 2022 Poesia, which suffered minor frost damage in early April, has a more marine-tinged bouquet thanks to its clay/limestone soils. Blackberry and blueberry fruit, fine delineation, taciturn at first, but it opens well in the glass after aeration. The palate is medium-bodied with a fresh, peppery entry. The limestone comes through nicely here. But it's quite backward on the finish and therefore it will require 4-5 years in bottle. - Neal Martin, Vinous Media
Inky, intense and glass-staining in colour. This shows a powerful construction from start to finish, with concentrated damson and black cherry fruits, and a wall of tannins. Located in a cooler sector of St Emilion near to Château Peby Faugeres, 40-60cm of clay then hits limestone, 3.39ph gives a pretty powerful hit of acidity on the opening beats. In the Leveque family since 2013, and they have since replanted more than half of the vineyard, 25hl/h yield in the end. - Jane Anson, Inside Bordeaux
Offering up aromas of sweet berries, cherries and plums, framed by sweet new oak, the 2022 Poesia is medium to full-bodied, deep and layered, with a lively core of fruit, chalky tannins and a saline finish. Given this late-ripening limestone site's naturally low pH, I tend to think that even less would be more with regards extraction, but this is nevertheless a strong effort. - William Kelley, Wine Advocate
