This rich, full-bodied Champagne is a classic from this producer. Its richness is emphasized by ripe Pinot Noir that dominates the blend, typical of the house style. A blend of grand and premier cru wines from across the Montagne de Reims and Côte des Blancs, this wine will age much further. Drink from 2022. Cellar Selection. - Roger Voss, Wine Enthusiast

Pol Roger's 2012 Brut Vintage continues to show very well indeed, offering up inviting aromas of citrus oil, crisp yellow orchard fruit, peach, smoke, and fresh bread. Medium to full-bodied, layered and complete, it's deep and fleshy, with excellent concentration, racy acids and an elegant pinpoint mousse. I purchased this wine for my own cellar in magnum, and I can't wait to open them a decade from now. - William Kelley, Wine Advocate

As usual the vintage is a 60/40 blend of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, but, unsurprisingly in such a superb Pinot year as 2012, the dark fruits are in the ascendant, evidenced initially by the burnished gold colour, then by a nose which is rich and gently savoury and finally by a resplendent palate which rehearses encyclopaedic appraisal of all the virtues of this great region, in a year when the climate has elicited dramatic tension to propel the bubbles. Plum, stone fruit, kumquat, gingerbread and toffee apple challenge and inspire in turn; the finish, as usual with Pol, has a saline purity to leaven the indulgence that has gone before it and to ensure a soft, satisfying landing. Drinking Window 2021 - 2030 - Simon Field MW, Decanter

Harmonious and straight with clarity and beauty to the wine. Cooked-apple and light honey aromas and flavors. Full body. Such balance and creaminess to the texture and weight. Lovely now. - James Suckling

A cool, pure and distinctly airy nose is comprised by notes of green apple, spice, citrus and plenty of yeasty brioche nuances. The supporting mousse is generous and relatively fine on the wonderfully textured, rich and substantial flavors that deliver excellent complexity on the impressively long finish. This is already drinking very well though it clearly has the stuffing to age for another 10 years if a more mature fruit and flavor profile is your preference. Lovely stuff and fashioned in a full-flavored style. - Allen Meadows, Burghound

The 2012 Brut Vintage is radiant and super-expressive from the get-go. Apricot, pastry, baked apple and buttery notes wrap around the palate effortlessly. Soft and caressing, with tons of immediacy, the 2012 is quite showy today. More importantly, it is delicious and also very easy to like. - Antonio Galloni, Vinous Media

Magnum. Lovely salty-bread aromas, like focaccia with those big sea-salt crystals. Beautiful baked-apple fruit, full body, creamy texture with a lovely smokiness – is that the Pinot element? The fruit is so alluring on the palate. A real wine to savour. Complex and lengthy, with all the classic hallmarks of vintage champagne. - Richard Hemming MW, Jancis Robinson .com
