The 2023 Riesling Ried Klaus Smaragd is dominated by amphibolite. The nose is creamy, slightly smoky, and here the tables are turned, the nose is creamier. The palate is tighter, with lovely citric concentration. This is bright, fresh, vivid and so gorgeous. The 2023 is ripe but with beautiful tension and freshness.
