#9 out of 48 in the Saint Emilion Oswald's Blind Tasting, London 2022 featuring 2011-2018 Angelus, Ausone, Cheval Blanc, Figeac, Pavie, Quintus
Incredibly dense nose of cocoa powder and savory notes. Hard to imagine how a red wine could be more delicious than this beauty, which glides effortlessly over your palate. In spite of all the richness, this is filigree, subtle and gentle. Drink or hold. Château Quintus vertical tasting. Stuart Piggot - JamesSuckling .com
Tasted blind. Pleasing balance but not the most intense. Lots of fruit but in a well contained framework. Luscious and a little salty. Not as concentrated as C [Ch Figeac] but in the same style. Wonderful freshness. - Jancis Robinson
A blend of 76% Merlot and 24% Cabernet Franc, the 2015 Quintus has a medium to deep garnet-purple hue, opening with aromas of baked cherries, warm red currants and crushed black plums with touches of cigar box, violets and dark chocolate. Medium-bodied, it sports very finely-grained, plush tannins and remains seamlessly refreshing and elegant in the mouth with a seductively nuanced flavor profile, culminating with wonderful length and depth. - LPB, Wine Advocate
