Rich and intense, this wine has just the right balance of sweetness and concentrated noble rot. The wine's underlying texture is exemplary, promising much for a very fine wine. - Roger Voss, Wine Enthusiast

The 2020 Rayne-Vigneau is dense, powerful and explosive. There's not a ton of subtlety here, but that's not what Rayne-Vigneau is about. Readers will find a deep, potent wine endowed with quite a bit of depth. Dried pear, chamomile, mint and spice build as this broad, authoritative Sauternes shows off its personality. - Antonio Galloni, Vinous Media

The 2020 Rayne-Vigneau has a pale gold color, needing a little coaxing to unlock notions of canned pineapples, baked peaches and acacia honey, with hints of candle wax, allspice and toasted almonds. The palate contributes enticing crème caramel and nutty accents to the decadent stone fruit preserves flavors, backed up by a racy backbone, finishing with great length. - Lisa Perrotti-Brown, Wine Advocate

Deep, burnished gold in colour. Bright and clean on the attack, this is good quality, with lemon zest flavours and silky in texture overall. A little flat on the finish. A yield of 16hl/ha. - Jane Anson, Decanter

A very pleasing young Sauternes with attractive dried fruit, such as mangoes and apples with medium body, medium sweetness and a clean finish. Not a lot of botrytis character showing. - James Suckling

Deep copper colour. A little brûlée on the nose but quite fragile. Big, bold, round and sweet on the front palate and then lightly burnt note on the finish with a hint of burnt pineapple. Some energy in this but there is also some stickiness rather than botrytis. - Jancis Robinson
