The nose is enticing with deep aromatics of blackberries, plum, crème de menthe, and dark chocolate. The entry is elegant and builds to a luscious mid-palate, full of freshly picked berries, black licorice, and cassis. Thomas Rivers Brown, Consulting Winemaker
Consulting Winemaker Thomas Rivers Brown is one of the most exciting young talents in Napa Valley. Born in Sumter, South Carolina, Thomas developed an interest in wine while at the University of Virginia. Later he expanded his knowledge of wines from all the world's great regions while working at All Seasons Wine Shop in Calistoga. Beginning at Turley Estate in the late 1990s, and continuing today at Schrader, Maybach Cellars, Outpost and his own project, Rivers-Marie, he crafts beautiful wines that speak of the land and conditions that created them.

JJ Dowell, Estate Winemaker
Jaime “JJ” Dowell received her degree in Viticulture and Enology from University of California, Davis. Subsequently, JJ gained practical experience working as an intern for Artesa, Cardinale, Atalong, and Lokoya. She then held winemaking positions at Bonny Doon Vineyard, and spent three years harvesting high-end Pinot Noir at Villa Maria Estate in New Zealand.

Having completed her winemaking time overseas, JJ returned to the Napa Valley and went to work for Jean Hoeflinger as the Associate Winemaker of Alpha Omega. Under Jean’s tutelage, JJ honed her skills in single-vineyard Cabernet Sauvignons, while also working in conjunction with Michel Rolland as their consultant for his Napa Valley series. JJ’s five years as Assistant Winemaker to Jean prepared JJ to take the winemaking helm at Round Pond Estate, which she did in July of 2017.
