Fantastic nose of ginseng, dried apricots, yellow plums, brown sugar, honey, lemons and tangerine peel. Honeyed and smooth with layers of dried fruit and subtle earthy elements. A waft of beeswax on the nose transitions on the palate to a pure and lovely beam of poached apricot fruit, accented by dried raspberry, candied ginger, hazelnut biscotti and honeysuckle notes. Heady aromas of golden currants steeped in honey and orange blossom. Incredibly fresh and dancing on tiptoe despite the sweetness. Fresh oranges frame kumquats in cinnamon syrup, and gossamer-fine threads of Earl Grey tea weave through the wine bringing angle and more freshness and easing the sweetness into something that’s almost thirst-quenching.
