As in 2023, the 2022 Gigondas Le Poste is the standout in the lineup, and it’s clearly one of the wines of the vintage. Coming from older vines just up the hill from the château and partially destemmed Grenache, it has a brilliant core of red and black fruits, graphite, Provençal spices, and ground pepper. Layered, full-bodied, concentrated, and incredibly well-balanced, with ripe tannins, it deserves 4-5 years of bottle age if you can and will blow you away over the following two decades.—Jeb Dunnuck

To me, le Poste always includes a nuance akin to salted licorice, and that's certainly the case with the 2022 Gigondas le Poste. It infuses the blackberry fruit with a salty, savory complexity unmatched by the other Saint-Cosme wines, while still being full-bodied, richly concentrated and velvety-textured, with a stunning, nearly endless finish. Have I underestimated it from barrel?—Joe Czerwinski, The Wine Advocate

A massive wine, this starts out with a voluptuous, generous well of black cherry, anise and plum puree that soon reveals a simmering layer of molten iron. Serious and brooding, with savory, smoky power and bitterness, yet this shows finesse and beautiful integration. The powerful black tea tannins are built to go the distance and need a bit of time to mellow out. A blockbuster. Best from 2026 through 2040. —K.B., Wine Spectator

A robust, well-built and structured Gigondas with impressive focus. The nose reveals notes of cherries, violets, Mediterranean herbs, stones and baking spices. It’s full-bodied with chewy tannins. Plain, textured and structured. Rich core of berries and spices in the compact finish at this stage. From organically grown grapes with Ecocert certification. Try after 2025.—James Suckling

Darker in fruit and fuller bodied than most Gigondas this year. Remarkably smooth, this is enjoyably ripe and dense, with tremulous acidity. There's a touch of sweetness to the fruit from the oak that works well. Tannins are quite robust, so give this time. There’s a good core of freshness running through it. Tastes like good clay terroir, with good depth. Grenache planted on limestone marl, from a single vineyard. No destemming. 12 months maturation in French oak barriques: 20% new, 50% one-year-old, 30% two-year-old. Unfiltered.-Matt Walls, Decanter

The 2022 Gigondas Le Poste has closed down, requiring sufficient aeration to unearth ripe black fruits, cedar, licorice and blueberry alongside leafy shadings. Packed with solid concentration and lifting freshness, the 2022 is a firmly structured and time demanding Le Poste built for the long haul..-Nicolas Greinacher, Vinous Media

Tasted blind. A sapid, attractive nose. Raspberry, strawberry and leather. The palate is dense and tightly wound, with firmly coiled tannins, sweet spice, tobacco and liquorice root. There is so much energy waiting underneath – this needs plenty of time to show itself. Has great potential.-Alistair Cooper MW, JancisRobinson
