Tasting note: An elegant and quite citrusy nose is comprised by notes of white pepper, quinine, iodine and tidal pool. The impressively concentrated medium-bodied flavors also possess a beguiling texture white retaining plenty of punch on the super-saline and bone-dry finale that offers both excellent depth and persistence. The 2019 Chablis Vaillons 1er Cru has an extravagant nose of nicely defined pineapple, lime and light passion fruit aromas. The palate is well balanced with a pleasant fatness, although, like the Vaucoupin, it is missing some tension and nervosité on the finish. A redeeming saline note crops up on the aftertaste.
