A parcel of .8 ha planted in 1973 on deep sandy soils on the right bank of the Rhoin river. It is the only Savigny-les-Beaune premier cru that is south of the river, all the rest are north. There is always more sun on this parcel so it tends to ripen more readily. ‘Les Marconnets’ refers to a nearby spring.
The 2019 Savigny-lès-Beaune 1er Cru Les Marconnets soars from the glass with scents of roses, exotic spices, raspberries, blackberries and musk. Medium to full-bodied, bright and perfumed, its enveloping core of crunchy fruit girdled by lively acids and underpinned by powdery tannins, it concludes with a long, fragrant finish..—William Kelley, The Wine Advocate
