A delicious savory red with blackcurrant chocolate and cedar aromas and flavors. It’s medium-bodied with fine round tannins. Fresh and bright. It opens at the end and becomes chewy and intense. Give this two or three years to soften but it’s already focused. - James Suckling

Rustic nose, a hint of perfume, but focuses on vanilla, clove and liquorice. Lovely texture in the mouth with chewy tannins around deep, soft and smooth red fruits, cooling menthol and spiced wood notes at the back. Precise winemaking on show, all quite detailed and in balance. 40% new oak, the rest aged in steel tanks. 90% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Franc.
Drinking Window 2023 - 2035 - Georgina Hindle, Decanter

(Bordeaux; 90% Merlot; 10% Cabernet Franc; aged in oak barrels for 18 months; 15% alcohol; Diam enclosure). The first vintage of this wine and already impressive. Bright, aerial and attractive on the nose with plenty of calcaire lift and grace and an impressively pure and slightly herb-tinged red and darker berry fruit nose; a little suggestion of Angélus oak too in the cedar and spice notes that develop in the glass. Svelte on the entry and, again, a wine that speaks quite eloquently of its terroir – the fine-grained calcaire tannins biding the fruit to the linear spine. Pure, precise and very elegant. This, of course, lacks the density or depth of Carillon or Angélus, but it’s cut from the same cloth and has the same personality. - Drinks Business

The de Bouard de Laforest family at Angelus has been dedicated to the production of great wines for eight generations. Recently under the impetus of Stephanie de Bouard-Rivoal the estate created a new wine called Tempo d’Angelus. This new addition to the range of wines of Château Angélus made under the Bordeaux appellation offers a more streamlined version of its illustrious elders - Chateau Angelus Carillon d’Angelus and N°3 d’Angelus with which it shares the same depth and complexity while being at the same time more approachable young.

“Tempo d’Angelus emanated from the desire to place our savoir-faire at the service of the production of a wine that contributes to the promotion of Bordeaux in France and all over the world. Tempo d’Angelus has been created as a step in an alternative direction a transposition of everything that makes up the Angelus world of excellence onto an approachable level

The grapes of Tempo d’Angélus are exclusively sourced from vines belonging to Château Angélus, namely from plots acquired in 2017 for this very purpose and which are located in Castillon-la-Bataille and Sainte-Colombe, a few kilometers from Saint-Émilion, on magnificent clay-limestone slopes. It is vinified in a cellar specifically designed for it, within the 'Chai Carillon,' in which it benefits from state-of-the-art technology and all the savoir-faire of Angélus.” - Stéphanie de Bouard-Rivoal

The aim of Tempo d’Angelus is to demystify the approach to great wines in offering a top quality wine produced from the great Angelus terroirs and made with the expertise of its teams at the most affordable price levels. It has been created to provide a window that opens out onto the world of grands crus which will allow demanding wine enthusiasts to enjoy a wine that is structured complex and delicious to drink without having to wait 15 or 20 years as they often have to for our grands crus. The grapes of Tempo d’Angelus are exclusively sourced from vines belonging to Chateau Angelus namely from plots acquired in 2017 for this very purpose and which are located in Castillon-la-Bataille and Sainte- Colombe a few kilometers from Saint Emilion on magnificent clay-limestone slopes. It is vinified in a cellar specifically designed for it within the “Chai Carillon” in which it benefits from state-of-the-art technology and all the savoir-faire of Angelus. The label for Tempo d’Angelus is deliberately minimalistic and has been given the codes of its prestigious elders. In the center it displays the emblematic Angelus bell in a swinging movement to convey the special “tempo” that this new wine brings to the range. The color and graphics echo the emblematic features on the labels of Chateau Angelus Carillon d'Angelus and N°3 d’Angelus.
