Rich and spicy, this exudes macerated cherry, plum, spice and toasted oak flavors. Juicy and full of energy, this features a long, cherry- and graphite-infused aftertaste. Chalky tannins coat the gums. Best from 2022 through 2038. 350 cases made. BS – Wine Spectator
The 2015 Beaune 1er Cru Clos du Roi has a very well defined and pure bouquet with red cherries, crushed strawberry and rose petal scents that seem to gain clarity and harmony in the glass. The palate is medium-bodied with supple, ripe red cherry and cranberry fruit, a touch of pomegranate just behind with fine mineralité on the finish. Superb - one of the best examples that I have tasted from Tollot-Beaut. Neal Martin – The Wine Advocate
Tasting note: A markedly ripe yet still fresh nose combines aromas of black raspberry, cherry, violet and a trace of anise. Consistent with the prior wines the medium weight flavors possess a wonderfully seductive mouth feel; indeed the word caressing is apt, all wrapped in lilting, dusty and moderately firm finale. Good stuff here and fashioned in a more forward and accessible style. Outstanding – Allen Meadows - Burghound
The 2015 Beaune 1er Cru has an attractive bouquet replete with wild strawberry, cranberry, crushed stone and subtle pressed iris and incense aromas that render this complex and engaging. The palate is very well balanced with slightly darker fruit than its Beaune peers, offering blackberry mixed with bilberry and raspberry. Quite grippy in the mouth, with a solid but nicely focused finish. This has great potential. Tasted blind at the annual Burgfest tasting. - Neal Martin, Vinous Media
