Fresh and crunchy with a medium body and chalky tannins. Firm and polished with a blue-fruited, savory finish. - James Suckling

Deep plum in colour, edges of glass-staining violet, this opens with a whoosh of tannins, clamps in through the palate, has the rusticity and austerity that makes it pretty old school St Estèphe, a ton of character, sinewy tannins, muscular, pomegranate, needs time to soften. Juicy and so bright with quite high acidity giving the sense of fun and lift. Straight and well worked, tannins are fine and firm but the fruit and acidity are doing the talking here, giving some strictness and bite but an easy enjoyable style with plenty of terroir markers too. So joyful, but still with strength and concentration and a long, liquorice-tinged finish. HVE certified. 5% Cabernet Franc completes the blend. - Georgina Hindle, Decanter
