The quality of fruit and salty undertones from the limestone soil are really delicious and exciting. Medium to full body and very fine, velvety tannins that spread across the palate. Bright and crunchy at the end. 80% merlot and 20% cabernet franc. - James Suckling
Deep garnet-purple in color, the 2023 Tour Saint Christophe reveals a very pretty perfume of violets, black cherries, and mulberries followed by nuances of Sichuan pepper and cumin seed. The medium to full-bodied palate has vibrant black berry flavors with a velvety texture and great tension, finishing with a spicy kick. - Lisa Perotti-Brown, Wine Independent
A killer bottle of wine in the making, the 2023 Château Tour Saint Christophe checks in as a normal blend of 80% Merlot and 20% Cabernet Franc that's resting in just 25% new French oak, with the balance in once-used barrels and a small amount in foudre. It sports a deep purple hue as well as a rocking bouquet of cassis and black raspberries interwoven with spring flowers, hints of leather, and a brilliant sense of minerality. Medium to full-bodied, with juicy acidity, ripe tannins, and beautiful overall balance, it's another riveting wine from this estate. - Jeb Dunnuck
Named Grand Cru Classé in the most recent ranking of the classification, this estate under the Vignobles K stable rivals the more established Château Bellefont-Belcier in 2023, with vivid floral notes and bright cherry, plum and wet stone. The tannins fine and sap driven, leave the impression of a wine fresh and concentrated: 'We had to be extra soft in extractions because the substance was already there,' remarked estate director Jean-Christophe Meyrou. The harvest took place from 18 September to 7 October. The wine is ageing in 25% new oak with an ultra low pH of 3.35.- Panos Kakaviatos, Decanter
This group of Vignobles K wines under JC Meyrou have been steadily building in quality and consistency over the past decade. Well measured but full extraction, with a vibrant but inky plum colour, clear energy, some tight tannins and a high level of black pepper and clove spice. Cassis and black chocolate, good freshness underneath, with rose bud character. 25% new barrels. 46hl/ha yield. - Jane Anson, Inside Bordeaux
The 2023 Tour Saint Christophe has a perfumed, floral bouquet that shows fine delineation compared to some of its peers. The palate is medium-bodied, displaying crunchy red fruit mixed with white pepper and cedar. Quite linear toward the finish, this is a finelytuned Saint-Émilion that should age well in bottle. -- Neal Martin, Vinous Media
