Breathtaking aromas of perfectly ripe fruit with blackberries, black olives, licorice, cedar and sweet tobacco. Full body, incredible depth and power, yet this is always in reserve and check. Everything is in the right place for this new legend from Trotanoy. Try it in 2026. Will age for decades in the future. - James Suckling
The 2015 Trotanoy is medium to deep garnet colored. It sings with gorgeous scents of black cherry preserves, blackberry pie, and juicy blueberries, plus wafts of tobacco leaf, licorice, and mossy tree bark with a waft of crushed rocks. Full, super-concentrated, and built like a brick house, it has rich, concentrated black fruit and earthy layers, finishing with epic length. -Lisa Perrotti-Brown, Wine Independent
The 2015 Trotanoy is very clearly one of the wines of the vintage. In 2015, Trotanoy captures all the intensity of the year in its ample, full-bodied frame, and yet there is more than enough structure, energy and minerality to play off the wine's more overt leanings. A rush of black cherry, plum, graphite, leather, smoke and game punctuate the huge, tannic finish. What a wine! - Antonio Galloni, Vinous Media
Tannins have closed in around the fruit at this moment, showing just what a powerful vintage the 2015 is. Sensational stuff, hiding depths of flavour that will slowly but surely unfurl over the next decade. Black cherry, damson, cocoa bean, espresso, liqourice, olive paste. Expertly and confidently delivered. 50% new oak. - Jane Anson, Inside Bordeaux
Pomerol was a great success in 2015 and this wine is rich, layered and dense. Dark and spicy plum fruits luxuriate on the concentrated palate, with lifted notes and a hint of liniment, while retaining a lovely freshness despite 15% alcohol. It needs a few more years but this will be a stunning Pomerol for the long-term. Trotanoy's vineyards are dominated by clay, red-gravel and a layer of hard, iron-rich soil ‘crasse de fer’. - Andy Howard MW, Decanter
The 2015 Trotanoy has an intense bouquet, a mixture of red and black fruit, still with a little new oak to be subsumed but there is wonderful delineation here with hints of bay leaf and smoke emerging with time. The palate is grippy on the entry. This is a Pomerol with great backbone and structure and yet there is also wondrous delineation and complexity, a crescendo of flavor with black truffle and allspice emerging toward the persistent finish. Outstanding. - Neal Martin, Wine Advocate
Dark ruby garnet, violet reflections, delicate edge lightening, dark berry fruit underlaid with fine precious wood, fresh heart cherries, delicate nougat, sweet spices in the background, multi-faceted style. Taut, tightly knit, delicately fruity sweetness, present, well-integrated tannins, cherries in the finish, mineral and persistent, has great freshness and finesse, fine chocolate aftertaste, convincing length, safe aging potential. Classic systems.-Peter Moser, Falstaff
Notably dark crimson. Very savoury, with marked acidity and freshness. Yet it is more concentrated than any other J-P Moueix wine. A slow burner but should be exciting eventually. -Jancis Robinson
