Varners Chardonnay Amphitheater Block is rich, ample and super-expressive. Lemon peel, almonds, chamomile, earthiness, dried apricot and sage meld together effortlessly. More vibrant and fresh than the Holly's Cuvee, yet not as rich, the 2013 Chardonnay Amphitheater Block Spring Ridge Vineyard offers lots of lemon peel, crushed rock, white flowers and baked apple aromas and flavors. Medium-bodied, juicy, racy, and pure with vibrant acidity, it's showing nicely today, but I think will be even better in another year or two. - Jeb Dunnuck, Wine Advocate
