For the release of La Grande Dame 2015, Veuve Clicquot continues to claim optimism through colors with an unprecedented collaboration with Italian designer Paola Paronetto.
Each 6-pack comes with 1 of each color gift box!
Described as the master of colors, Paola Paronetto has created a collection of six gift boxes in a shower of hues from her palette, infused with emotion, optimism, and commitment. The whole set is a symphony of colors that chime harmoniously with each other. This offering continues to break with the classic and monochrome codes of prestige wines.
This graceful Champagne offers hints of smoke and toasted brioche that transition to patisserie apple and blackberry fruit, candied ginger and mandarin orange peel notes. Seamlessly knit and mouthwatering, with a minerally underpinning and a finely detailed, dotted bead. Lush and creamy on the vibrant, lasting finish. Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. Drink now through 2035. From France.—A.N., Wine Spectator
2015 shows off the sunny fruits of the year with more grip and intensity than the 2008 and 2012. Fleshy orange, red pear, dried pineapple and chewy grapefruit peel build on a firmly structured frame, although there is a suppleness of nougat and acacia honey lurking in the middle that promises to emerge with a little patience. The bustling energy of the vintage is sitting proud for now, bitter almond and fruit skin building to an energising close despite the moderate acidity. An edition that will perform especially well at the table. 90% Pinot Noir, 10% Chardonnay from 8 Grand Cru villages. Dosage 6 g/L. - Tom Hewson, Decanter
It is impossible to state how influential Madame Clicquot is to the Champagne industry as well as our enjoyment of this bubbly wine region. It is also impossible to briefly roll off her accomplishments. So, let’s just get to it. This is the latest vintage release of the Veuve Clicquot line of Champagne and does not disappoint. Slight hints of brioche with some candied pineapple or pear on the nose. That crystallized fruit is countered on the palate with extremely bracing acidity that calms the sweetness. The mouthfeel has a nice texture beneath the rapidly rising bubbles. It’s ready for a celebration or a huge plate of oysters. - Vinepair
